BE HIS HANDS AND FEET

Transforming communities through the mandate of Christ to go and love one another and be His vessels of love and life!

What is Dare To love?

Dare To Love is a love movement, demonstrating true transforming love by going out and touching people’s lives in a practical, life changing way. The movement is not affiliated with a specific Church denomination or group, and we encourage all to join and gain momentum in serving others. People of all ages are welcome and we believe in giving everyone an oppor-tunity to serve in whatever way they feel comfortable.

It has just been amazing to see people grow in a loving environment, given the opportunity to learn how to discover and live out their purpose with passion. When serving is truly a heart-to-heart thing and not just going through the motions, it is incredible to see and experience how the flow of love changes lives.

We believe South Africa will be known as a country moving and acting in and with the love and light of Jesus Christ.

The movement was birthed after a few men started getting together on a weekly basis, just sharing the Word of God, and encouraging each other. We were deeply touched when we realised that faith without works is dead. The real challenge was to take our faith to the streets, and we decided to start making a difference in the central business district of the country’s capital city.

The movement has been growing with leaps and bounds since then across the country, as more and more people chose to make Dare To Love part of their lifestyles.

We are energised to see how the power of true love transforms lives and can testify of how many miracles we have experienced over the years when we adhere to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to go into action.

We dare you to come and see, then be encouraged to come and do one!

Why Step Out?

Have you ever experienced God calling you to step outside your comfort zone? To get in-volved in making a difference in someone’s life? Have you ever felt unsure of yourself and your capabilities for something God has called you to do?

Some people never have the courage to step out of their comfort zone because of self doubt. At Dare To Love we believe a comfort zone is in fact a jail cell that you have locked yourself into - the good news is that you have the key!

Oh, yes! You already have what it takes to be free and impact others! We are all called to serve others and in doing so we grow and fulfil our purpose in the Kingdom. We are all unique and have 'special abilities' that God has deposited in each and every one of us.

God equips the called, He does not call the equipped. You don’t one day become perfect and then you are qualified to serve - sounds weird, but subconsciously we think that, don't we?

Love In Action!

We can have all the faith and knowledge in the world, but if we sit passively, having the pow-er to get up and we don’t - How will we ever experience the power and guidance of God through the Holy Spirit? We can trust in Him and that He will give us what we need when we go into action.

Many of us look at the world and feel overwhelmed with the great need around us not realis-ing that if you can change and impact one person’s life it echoes through eternity. A small gesture of love is being His hands and feet now (present tense), not one day in the future - His Kingdom now was the message of Jesus.

Unfortunately many people believe one person can’t make a difference and become pas-sive, believing they are completely powerless. Fearing the outside world, convinced things can’t change, and that the world can only be better one day when Jesus comes again.

Who, Me?

Was “Who, me?” ever your response when God asked you to do something or you were moved with heart felt compassion to help someone. “Why not me?!” Is a much better response because NOTHING is impossible WITH God! ”Jesus looked at them intently and said, ‘Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.’” (Matthew 19:26)

In reality the call on our lives is to step out and into His authority, He already gave us this the day we accepted Jesus Christ into our lives. A new creation, capable of trusting in Him and the complete work of the cross and resurrection.

That’s it! The first step was to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, but it did not end there - that was only the beginning - you are called to Grow and Shine your light into this world. You can only shine your light and have an impact if you go into action and reach out to others.

True love
has no
boundaries

What Is True Love?

We are called to pour ourselves out for others. Naturally we are often slow to embrace this aspect. We misapply the freeness of God’s grace to us in Christ in such a way that can over-shadow the appropriate response to that grace. In other words we stand in grave danger of making His grace cheap.

We have to realise that the opposite of love is not hate, but self. Our communities have tradi-tionally grown accustomed to passive Christians, focused on themselves and not stepping out and impacting the lives of the poor, the widow and the orphan.

It is absolutely great to go to Church to experience fellowship, the corporate anointing and filling ourselves spiritually, but then we should not keep it to ourselves. The Good News is best if shared with the ones who need it the most and our action, to love unconditionally, speaks much loader than words.

Why Serve?

When the heart stops pumping, the body dies. When the river stagnates, the fish die. When the cashflow ceases, the business closes. But wherever there is flow, we find life. God’s plan from the beginning is for all mankind to experience abundant life.

God reconciled us to Himself, gave us access to His grace, and promised that rivers of living water would flow from our innermost being.

His grace abounds towards us, not just to meet our own needs, but for every good work. Remember, it is more blessed to give than to receive. As good stewards of the grace of God we use our gifts, skills, talents, time, wisdom and revelation for the benefit of others.

Everyone was created to bear the image of God. Starting in the natural at birth, we have a spiritual journey of transformation from new birth to the fullness of Christ. As we progress on this path of life, we have the opportunity to help others on the way.

Jesus came to us bearing the image of God, full of grace and truth. He came as the Light of the world, the Son of God, but He said that we are to shine our light. As sons and daughters of the Father, we bring light to the darkness of the world.

The life and love that we have experienced, we share with others. The Father sent Jesus and Jesus sent us. We reveal the love of God by putting action to our faith and allowing His grace and truth to flow through us.

Not just grace, not just handouts, but truth of identity, truth of who God created us to be, full of Life, full of Love!

The purpose of serving others is so God can reach people through our hands and feet. In 2 Cor. 9:12-13, the Bible teaches that the service we provide not only meets needs but ex-presses thanks to God and leads others to praise God. Service builds up the "body of Christ."

“The same mind” that was in Jesus is in us, and we are called to choose to express it as he did.

Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, tak-ing the form of a slave, being born in human likeness.—Philippians 2:5-7

What is that mind? We have to realise that we live in an innate oneness with the divinity of God and we need to make a conscious choice to bring that oneness into this life experience. This is what Jesus did. This is what Jesus calls us to do. To follow his example and serve others.

Do One, Teach One, Dare One!

At Dare To Love we realise that most of the time the single thing keeping people away from stepping out, and making a difference may be not knowing how or where to start. Have you ever committed to something and then realised that following through will require breaking out of your comfort zone? Did you renege? Find a compromise? Or did you have a break-through and move the boundary of your comfort zone?

Yes! You can do it! Come join the Dare To Love family and experience firsthand by learning from others. Once you have done one and realised that it empowered you to live your pur-pose with passion you will be able to show others how to go into action and lead by example. Invite your family, friends and colleagues to join - Dare them, and change their lives.

Let’s Choose To See People Differently.

All of us need to pay attention to the thoughts that pop up and categorising people and assign-ing a value either below or above where you think you are yourself. The love of Jesus Christ is the same for all people regardless of race, gender or stature. He is not looking at your out-ward appearance or worldly achievements; He sees your spirit and your heart. John 15:12 "This is y commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."

1 Corinthians 13:12-13 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Luke 6:37 "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be con-demned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

Great responsibility comes with the realisation that we will be judged by how we treat others.

Unfortunately prejudice prevails in society because people tend to believe that: Where we are and What we have spiritually, physically, mentally, religiously, politically, ideologically, finan-cially or even emotionally is superior. None of this will matter when we stand in the presence of God.

We can Love because God Loves us.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever be-lieves in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

No matter what country or society, history has shown that Love is the most important spiritual standard of every generation. Intimacy with God through the finished work on the cross and moving with His Spirit in obedience, WILL produce the evidence in our lives manifesting as the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23a But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

    Some Scripture To Encourage You!

We have to rely on God’s word to overcome fear, doubt and the enemy’s lies. At times, circumstances will require that we take a stand, step outside of our comfort zone and into bold courage.

    2 Timothy 1:7

We battle our fears, and stand on God’s truth. Fear is not from God, so every time it creeps into your thinking, remind yourself, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).

    Philippians 1:6

You can rely on God for His Word promises, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (Philippians 1:6).

    James 1:5

When God calls you to something, you must obey. And he promises that when we ask, He will lavishly give His wisdom: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5).

    Jeremiah 29:11

Do you ever doubt yourself? When doubt enters your mind know it is not your own thoughts. Those are lies from the enemy who already knows of the plans God has for you, to prosper you and to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). You can be certain that God is the author of your story and the finisher of your faith.

    Matthew 10:8

“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”

    1 John 4:19

Our love for others is our grateful response to the love God first demonstrated to us.

    Proverbs 11:25

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”

    Matthew 23:11

“The greatest among you will be your servant.”

    Luke 6:38

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and run-ning over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

    Mark 10:45

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

    1 Peter 4:10

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

    Romans 12:9-13

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in pray-er. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”

    Galatians 6:9

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."

    Galatians 6:10

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

    Luke 6:35

“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.”

    Acts 20:35

“I have shown you in every way, by labouring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to re-ceive.”

    Ephesians 2:10

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

    Colossians 3:23-24

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”

    Matthew 25:40

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

    Isaiah 58:10

“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”
